How To: Organize Your Life With Google Calendar
70The above is Google's Icon for Google Calendar. What is Google Calendar, you may ask?
Google: An American public corporation, earning revenue from advertising related to its Internet search, e-mail, online mapping, office productivity, social networking, and video sharing services as well as selling advertising-free versions of the same technologies.
Calendar: any of various systems of reckoning time, esp. with reference to the beginning, length, and divisions of the year.
In layman's terms: It's exactly what it sounds like
Step 1:
Go to www.google.com/calendar
A rather important step as you cannot get this application without going to the google website.
Step 2:
Click on "Create an account"
This is circled in the picture above to ensure maximum visibility on the part of the reader.
Already have a google account? Type in your username and password and then skip to step 4
Step 3:
Enter the neccesary information
If you have a Google or Gmail account already, make sure you are logged into that account while you set up because the username and password for Gmail will be the same as for Google Calendar.
Step 4:
Click the link to activate your account
If all goes well you will have recieved an email from google. Click the link they give you on that email to activate your account. Then click the link on the webpage that pops up to go to your own Personal Google Calendar! Yay!!!
Okay so we're here, we've gotten this far, but what do we do now?
Well that starts with you! Google Calendar should be set on the default "Week" setting. You can change this by clicking on the tabs.
Now that we know how to view the calendar by month, week, and day, lets figure out how to add an event to the calendar
Oooh exciting, an event!
There are two ways to Add an event.
You can click create event, and fill out detail about the event like:
- Event description
- Event location
- Email reminder
- When it repeats
Or you can merely click on day/hour you wish to schedule the event and type in the name of the event. After you enter the event you can drag the bottom of the event to the desired end time.
Do this for each and any event you want on there.
Hooray! We are now closer to making some sense of this jumbled mess we call our schedules!!!

Until next time! Have a nice day!
